Dr. Talbert Lawrence Grooms, Sr. "Distinguished himself by exemplary service and commitment to the Dayton community" He was born on October 21, 1956 to the late Mrs. Lucy M. Glass-Grooms and James (Jimmy) Curington. Talbert graduated from Kiser High School and received his Associate Degree from Sinclair Community College, Bachelor Degree in Management from Wilberforce University "Cum Laude" (The Nation's oldest private HBCU), Master Degree in Education from The University of Dayton "Summa Cum Laude" and Doctorate on Higher Education Administration from Walden University. His service to Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity (Beta Xi Sigma Chapter President, Great Lakes Region Vice Director), Wilberforce University, and the Greater Dayton Community is undeniable and today we honor his life and legacy.
